A Cappella Pops is pleased to announce Ms. Miku Shiota as our new Music Director.

Miku holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory, where she majored in vocal and instrumental music education and minored in piano performance. She has sung with the Choral Society of Montgomery County and the Pennsylvania Academy of Performing Arts (now called Concordia Choral Arts) Ariana Women's Choir. As a violinist, she has performed with the Delaware County Symphony and the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival.

She taught music at the Springside School in Philadelphia, New Hope Academy in Yardley and the Broad Street Academy in Philadelphia. She was formerly conductor and music director of the Montgomery County Youth Orchestra and organist for the Springfield Baptist Church, as well as a Lead String Teaching Artist with Play On, Philly! and the music director of the Greater Philadelphia Chorale. Currently, she is on the music faculty of the Germantown Friends School, as well as the co-conductor of the Delaware County Young Musicians Orchestra.

Miku was hired as assistant director for Pops in late 2016. When director Pat Montenegro passed away in April 2017, she took over as interim director.

We look forward to singing our way into the future with Miku!
